A great party requires a welcoming space, nourishing food and people worth meeting. At this year’s kickoff for Orange County’s Largest Mixer®, we had all of those in spades!
The OC Fair & Event Center’s Baja Blues restaurant was perfect – easy parking and a spacious room with great ambience. Ovations provided a full taco bar, chimichangas, chicken sliders, buffalo wings and mini burgers. Oh, and let’s not forget the grilled vegetables, which our own Christopher Wong said were literally the best he’d ever had.
But our business here is networking and the main attraction are the guests, so we’d like to spotlight some of the awesome people who attended.
Kim Lawrence from the LA Times likes the kick off because “at the Largest Mixer® – there are so many people, there’s not enough time to meet with the other exhibitors.” Here she poses with some of the business cards she received tonight.
It was the 3rd year of attendance for Sheldon Singleton of Team Referral Network and he says he’s here to “net work, not net sit or net eat. I’m here to work the net.” Here he is, pictured left.
It’s the 2nd year here for AJ and Edwin of W Radio 690 AM, pictured below, and they said they come back because they always get new leads. “People are surprised to see a radio station and have no idea the kinds of offers we have… They’re minds are blown.” Here they are, in the midst of what we presume is a mind blowing conversation.
Jim Lawson from KRLA, pictured below, has been attending since 2002 and tonight he said he got some exciting leads. “I don’t expect that out of the kick off event – it’s just social, but it’s a nice bonus!”
Jim Lennartson from Battle of the Dance had some great advice for, as he calls it, “mingling and dingling” which is – “if people are looking around, it means they want to talk to someone!”
One of the most exciting parts of the night were the giveaways. Everyone walked away with a gift certificateto a 2 nights stay plus golf at Primm Valley Resorts in Primm, Nevada.
