Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce Mixes it up with Busby’s on Wilshire

The Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce held their monthly luncheon mixer today at the Miracle Mile Busby’s on Wilshire. Every month the mixer is held at a new location but, the theme is still the same - Great people coming together to achieve great things in the community.

The Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce Mixer’s are unlike any other. Not only do they bring business members of the community together, but they also encourage members to reach out to those people and business that they may or may not have previously met.

Throughout the luncheon, chamber members enjoyed yummy food and beverages catered by El Toro Cantina and even upon arrival, members were already mixing and mingling. Upon conclusion of lunch, Steve, Bill and other chamber members gave a short speech thanking everyone for their participation and gave special thanks the Largest Mixer for their support and prize donation (4 Tickets to the Largest Mixer on July 23rd). The Miracle Mile Chamber is a major supporter of the Largest Mixer and is eager to see what new and exciting things this year will bring.

Community is very important to the chamber, so in closing members we all encouraged to introduce themselves and tell a little bit about their business. Mayor Gabriel Sermano was even present to provide a few words of wisdom and encouragement. Others in attendance included Matt Simon from The Grove, Mark Logan with Firm Body Evolution, and Pam Rudy of the Larchmont Chronicle.

Overall the Miracle Mile Chamber Mixer was a wonderful luncheon filled with great food, fabulous prizes, and amazing people!

Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Hosts Mixer at Local Hotspot, Hollywood Billiards

We recently attended the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s monthly mixer at Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood. The evening was nothing short of a success.

(Hollywood Chamber Members and Business Professionals Mingling)

Since 1921 the mission of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has been “Promoting and enhancing the business, cultural and civic well-being of the greater Hollywood community. Their goal is to enhance the Hollywood community and bring together those businesses and community members to discover new ways to network and improve an already thriving town. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is also huge supporter of the Largest Mixer. To show our support, we donated two pairs of event tickets. The winners each received two tickets for entry into the Largest Mixer valued at a total of $80. This was definitely a crowd pleaser.

Aside from a great atmosphere, drinks and appetizers were served to the many energetic business professionals and chamber members. Plaques were also awarded to those new members of the chamber, welcoming them into the organization. Among some of the new business members inducted, were Massage & Mobile Spa, Lanair, and AOO Events.

(Plague presented to new chamber members, AOO Events)

While at the event, we mixed and mingled with an array of business professionals including Heather Wright, School Director of EI School of Professional Makeup, Ken Peterson of Hollywood’s newest attraction Hollywood Fringe and Bill Farrar active chamber member and Senior Vice President of Operations and Business Development for Andrews International. Even members from Beverly Hills Times were present.

Hesperia Chamber of Commerce Throws New Member Reception

The Largest Mixer recently attended the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce's New Members' Reception at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hesperia. With such a great turn out, there was no shortage of people to meet. To facilitate introductions, a portion of the event was dedicated to giving members the microphone and having them give a brief introduction about themselves. As a result, we learned so much about businesses in Hesperia and really had a great time.

Just a few of the people that we met at the event were Randi Caporale, Operations Manager of Candy Crate, Inc., Rosanne Weathers of myMEdiacharge Web Design, and Debbie A. Cannon of High Desert Resource Network.

The Largest Mixer has been a proud member of the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce for nearly three years, so it delights us to be able to say that the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce has been a sponsor of ours for nearly three years as well!

We'd like to especially thank Yvonne for all that she does in promoting economic growth in the high desert.

Terry Hitchcock's 'My Run' Debuts in Hollywood

My Run, the inspirational story of Terry Hitchcock, debuted its first screening last night at the Regency Fairfax Cineplex. The screening was an intimate, red carpet event hosted by the film's associate producer (and Largest Mixer supporter!) Christine Redlin. The guest list featured cast members (including the Hitchcock family), celebrities, friends, family, and several other invited guests.

My Run, directed by Tim Vandesteeg, tells the remarkable story of a man who, after tragically losing his wife to breast cancer, ran 75 marathons in 75 consecutive days to raise awareness and support for single parent families. Throughout Terry's journey from Minnesota to Atlanta, we are all reminded that human beings can accomplish anything that they put their minds to--all we need is someone to show us that it's possible.

Upon conclusion of the film, a short reception was held and many thanks were given to all of the film's sponsors and those involved in the making of this very special motion picture. A special thank you was extended to Billy Bob Thornton, the film's narrator, as well as Christine Redlin, Vandesteeg’s mother, and the film's Producer, Mark Castaldo. Other appreciations were extended to the Minnesota Twins, Sun Country Airlines, local chambers of commerce, as well as the cancer and single parent foundations that continue to support Terry throughout his quest to better the future for our children.

In closing, My Run left audience members with uplifted spirits and a new perspective on what can be achieved if we set our minds to it. All in all it was truly a night to remember.

The Largest Mixer recently attended the La Verne Expo and Car Show hosted by the La Verne Chamber of Commerce. With classic vintage cars at the show, attendants were not only able to meet new people and get acquainted with the various chamber members who came, but also admire the array of cars on display. To top it off, attendants also had a chance to participate in a raffle for a trip to sunny Florida. The event was really a great success.

Dozens of classic vintage cars were spread out throughout the event grounds.

Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce Sponsors After 5 Networking @ Night

With a tag-line that says, "The Who, When, & Where Business Gets Done," the Largest Mixer couldn't help but to see what all the hype was about. The After 5 Networking @ Night sponsored by the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce, as its tag-line suggests, was a great place to meet people, exchange contacts, and make business happen. Moreover, The Beverly Garland Holiday Inn was a picturesque venue to hold such a networking event. With most of the festivities (including a live band) located outdoors, the environment was very refreshing.

Among the many people that we ran into at the event were Jeffrey Ellis, AR Representative for Green Flag, Rita Bishop, Advertising Account Manager for the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, and Mauricio A. Urquilla, Partner and Creative Director for LMDesign.

The Largest Mixer recently attended the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce's networking event held at Mijares Mexican Restaurant. Mijares is a family owned hacienda-style restaurant that has been situated in Pasadena for nearly a century. There were crowds of people all ready to enjoy the delicious food and network the night away.

Some of the people that we ran into at this event were Charlene Brown, Editor of Lookin' Green, Betty Henderson of Bonnie B's Smokin, and Joan De Souza, Independent Consultant of PartyLite.
