Hesperia Chamber of Commerce Throws New Member Reception

The Largest Mixer recently attended the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce's New Members' Reception at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hesperia. With such a great turn out, there was no shortage of people to meet. To facilitate introductions, a portion of the event was dedicated to giving members the microphone and having them give a brief introduction about themselves. As a result, we learned so much about businesses in Hesperia and really had a great time.

Just a few of the people that we met at the event were Randi Caporale, Operations Manager of Candy Crate, Inc., Rosanne Weathers of myMEdiacharge Web Design, and Debbie A. Cannon of High Desert Resource Network.

The Largest Mixer has been a proud member of the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce for nearly three years, so it delights us to be able to say that the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce has been a sponsor of ours for nearly three years as well!

We'd like to especially thank Yvonne for all that she does in promoting economic growth in the high desert.

Terry Hitchcock's 'My Run' Debuts in Hollywood

My Run, the inspirational story of Terry Hitchcock, debuted its first screening last night at the Regency Fairfax Cineplex. The screening was an intimate, red carpet event hosted by the film's associate producer (and Largest Mixer supporter!) Christine Redlin. The guest list featured cast members (including the Hitchcock family), celebrities, friends, family, and several other invited guests.

My Run, directed by Tim Vandesteeg, tells the remarkable story of a man who, after tragically losing his wife to breast cancer, ran 75 marathons in 75 consecutive days to raise awareness and support for single parent families. Throughout Terry's journey from Minnesota to Atlanta, we are all reminded that human beings can accomplish anything that they put their minds to--all we need is someone to show us that it's possible.

Upon conclusion of the film, a short reception was held and many thanks were given to all of the film's sponsors and those involved in the making of this very special motion picture. A special thank you was extended to Billy Bob Thornton, the film's narrator, as well as Christine Redlin, Vandesteeg’s mother, and the film's Producer, Mark Castaldo. Other appreciations were extended to the Minnesota Twins, Sun Country Airlines, local chambers of commerce, as well as the cancer and single parent foundations that continue to support Terry throughout his quest to better the future for our children.

In closing, My Run left audience members with uplifted spirits and a new perspective on what can be achieved if we set our minds to it. All in all it was truly a night to remember.

La Verne Chamber of Commerce Throws Expo and Car Show

The Largest Mixer recently attended the La Verne Expo and Car Show hosted by the La Verne Chamber of Commerce. With classic vintage cars at the show, attendants were not only able to meet new people and get acquainted with the various chamber members who came, but also admire the array of cars on display. To top it off, attendants also had a chance to participate in a raffle for a trip to sunny Florida. The event was really a great success.

Dozens of classic vintage cars were spread out throughout the event grounds.

Just one of the many vintage cars that the car show put on display.

Just a few of the people we ran into at the event were Sherri H. Fernandez, Marketing Director of SuddenValues.com, Nikki Hoar, owner of MTO Clean, and Greg Schmutzer, Director of Corporate Education for the University of La Verne.

One of the many exhibitors at the expo.

Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce Sponsors After 5 Networking @ Night

With a tag-line that says, "The Who, When, & Where Business Gets Done," the Largest Mixer couldn't help but to see what all the hype was about. The After 5 Networking @ Night sponsored by the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce, as its tag-line suggests, was a great place to meet people, exchange contacts, and make business happen. Moreover, The Beverly Garland Holiday Inn was a picturesque venue to hold such a networking event. With most of the festivities (including a live band) located outdoors, the environment was very refreshing.

Among the many people that we ran into at the event were Jeffrey Ellis, AR Representative for Green Flag, Rita Bishop, Advertising Account Manager for the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, and Mauricio A. Urquilla, Partner and Creative Director for LMDesign.

We'd like to give a special thanks to Nancy Hoffman of the San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce for throwing such a great event!

Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Throws Mixer at Mijares Mexican Restaurant

The Largest Mixer recently attended the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce's networking event held at Mijares Mexican Restaurant. Mijares is a family owned hacienda-style restaurant that has been situated in Pasadena for nearly a century. The only thing better than the authentic Mexican food was the networking opportunity that this event provided. There were crowds of people all ready to enjoy the delicious food and network the night away.

Some of the people that we ran into at this event were Charlene Brown, Editor of Lookin' Green, Betty Henderson of Bonnie B's Smokin, and Joan De Souza, Independent Consultant of PartyLite.

We'd like to give a special thanks to Paul Little and Kelly Shearer of the Pasadena Chamber for putting on a fantastic event!

Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Throws Mixer at Wokcano Cafe

The Long Beach Chamber of Commerce recently threw yet another great mixer. This time around, the mixer was held at the very posh and modern Wokcano Cafe. The event was packed with a crowd of people ready to mix and mingle. As Wokcano is an Asian fusion restaurant, the food offered was an interesting combination of Chinese and Japanese flavors. Wokcano doubled as the perfect venue to not only enjoy some delicious Asian cuisine, but also to house eager business professionals in their networking ventures.

At the event, we ran into Scott Simmons, Inside Sales Executive for the Los Angeles Clippers, Ken Dickson, General Manager of Avia Long Beach, and Judy Pugh, Client Liaison of Solena Landscape Co., just to name a few.

We'd like to give a special thanks to Joel and his staff for throwing such a fantastic mixer!

Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce's Business @ Sunset Mixer Successfully Hosted by Santa Monica Sports Medicine

Hosted by Santa Monica Sports Medicine and Dr. Mary Trumpi, this year's Santa Monica Chamber Mixer was a huge success. Having already thrown a great event last year, Santa Monica Sports medicine didn't disappoint. With a vibrant crowd, tasty appetizers, and even live music, there was lots of mingling to be done. If that wasn't enough, the mixer also provided complimentary chair massages, nutritional evaluations, postural and injury assessments to everyone in attendance.

Just a few of the people we ran into at the mixer were Alie Simpkins, Marketing Director of Lifeline Companion Services, Inc., Claudia Schafer, Loan Officer of Skyline Financial Corp., and Andrew Segovia, Financial Advisor of Edward Jones.

The Santa Monica Chamber, according to their mission statement,"advocates and represents business' interests and issues affecting the community. [They] provide the environment to help [their] members prosper and succeed through a proactive working partnership with all levels of government and community organizations to achieve a healthy local economy and quality of life." Needless to say, we're very proud to have the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce as a sponsor of the Largest Largest Mixer.

We'd like to give a special thanks to Laurel and her staff who always know how to put on a great mixer no matter what the location is!
