Santa Ana Business Alliance features Dave Linden as Guest Speaker of the Business Alliance Speaker Series

Yesterday, the Largest Mixer's very own Dave Linden guest spoke at the Business Alliance Speaker Series. Hosted by the Greater Santa Ana Business Alliance, the event was entitled "How to Make Your Booth Sizzle." As the title suggests, Dave spoke about the various dos and don'ts about how to really make your expo booth visible and get the most exposure possible.

A few highlights from the speech:
1) Have a goal. Whether it's to grab 100 business cards, sign up 25 people to your e-newsletter, or whatever it may be, having a goal that you can actively try and meet during the event keeps both you and your employees more engaged throughout the entire process.
2) Have a hook AKA The Showstopper. Why are people going to want to come to your booth? Make sure you have something that everyone walking the floor will want to search down your booth for.
3) Dress the part. Don't necessarily feel obligated to wear a suit for the day. Even though we're in the business of doing business, the mixer is also about having fun. Maybe you could wear some clothes that feature your company's logo? Or maybe you could even have costume clothes to grab attention. Whatever you decide to wear though, make sure that it's a good reflection of your company.

Just a few of the people that we ran into were Warren Hoffnung, CEO of My Wrapper, Barry V. Fidel of Cards From Barry, and Grace Manzano, Director of Operations of California Dental Group.

We'd like to extend a special thanks to Nancy Sandoval for putting together a great event!

Ontario Chamber Hosts Mixer at Newly Renovated Hilton Hotel

Yesterday the Largest Mixer attended the Ontario Chamber Mixer (co-sponsored by the Inland Empire Business Journal) at the Hilton Ontario Airport Hotel. As the Hilton was recently renovated, the venue of the mixer was superb. As if the Hilton wasn't already one of the most beautiful hotels in the industry, it now exudes even more of a stylish and sophisticated air than ever before. Almost any business event including conferences, holiday parties, and meetings, would be a perfect occasion to book the Hilton. The hotel staff pulled out all the stops for the mixer and provided some fabulous food including sushi, a carving station, and an array of desserts.

Just a few of the people we ran into at the mixer were Michael T. Bailey, Senior Financial Advisor of Ameriprise Financial, Jose Becerra of Aflac, and Mary Hollenbaugh, Retail Sales Manager of the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin (proud media sponsor of Inland Empire's Largest Mixer).

We'd like to thank Neil Poisson and Bette Gill for organizing such a fantastic event. We look forward to the next one! We'd also like to thank William Anthony of the Inland Empire Business Journal for all of his help in making the mixer a successful event.

Look forward to seeing you all there!

(For information on how to get the Hilton Ontario Airport included in your next event, call 909-980-0400 and ask for Bette Gill).

American Marketing Association Throws Luncheon Featuring Largest Mixer's Dave Linden

On Thursday, September 3, 2009, the Largest Mixer's very own Dave Linden was the featured speaker at the American Marketing Association's monthly luncheon. As the luncheon was entitled "Simple Steps for Effective Trade Show Marketing," Dave spoke about simple techniques to increase the effectiveness of trade show events to brand businesses, create calls to action, generate leads, and close sales.

Just a few highlights from the speech:
1) Your booth should tell the attendee who you are and what you do in 3 seconds.
2) Opening lines: Instead of May I help you?" try "What attracted you to our booth?" Let the person talk. In fact, let 'em talk up a storm--right through the first 30 seconds. After 30 seconds to a minute, when a bond is created, reach for a pad or note paper. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
3) Arrive early in order to have enough time to set-up your table.

Some of the people who we ran into at the luncheon were Christina Zila, Branch Office Manager of Textbroker, Timothy Carvalho of Carvalho Creative, and Alex Alexander, Wholesale Asset Manager of Money Source Investments.

We'd like to give a special thanks to William Crozer and Dean White of the American Marketing Association for throwing such a fantastic event and inviting Dave to speak!

The goal of Inland Empire's Largest Mixer III(R) is to encourage membership in one or several chambers of commerce, allowing businesses to grow based on a wider network of support. The mixer also provides a chance for businesses to network with one another for mutual support. Businesses and individuals do not have to be affiliated with a chamber to attend the Mixer.

Inland Empire's Largest Mixer(R) is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Ontario Convention Center, 2000 E. Convention Center Way, Ontario, CA 91764.

Admission is $20 per person for the opportunity to network with local "influentials" that comprise the uber savvy of the Inland Empire's business elite. The Mixer will feature over 200 exhibitors and an impressive list of local sponsors who share a common goal of business outreach and networking. Last year, 2000 business people attended the second annual Inland Empire's Largest Mixer(R). Businesses interested in purchasing exhibitor space to display their company's product or service should call (909) 560-2800.

The event is sponsored by: Chambers of Commerce: Arcadia, Colton, Corona, Covina, Greater Riverside Hispanic, Hesperia, Highland, Irwindale, La Verne, Ontario, Pomona, Rancho Cucamonga, Regional Chamber of San Gabriel Valley, Rialto, San Bernardino, San Dimas, Southern California Black, and Yucaipa.
