Los Angeles Downtown News Mixes It Up Moroccan Style

The Los Angeles Downtown News threw an event not to be missed and the Hotel Figueroa was the perfect location to bring out the best of downtown. The Moroccan themed hotel and a beautiful sunny summer evening drew both fans of The Downtown News and award winners to the poolside affair. Public officials, advertisers of the Los Angeles Downtown News, and many local business people were eager to mingle with the Best of Downtown Los Angeles. L.A.’s Largest Mixer was also in attendance of the event. The Downtown News has been a major supporter of the Largest Mixer throughout the years and is a media sponsor of L.A.’s Largest Mixer XI.

Sticking with the Moroccan theme, a DJ kept the crowd entertained with fitting music, drinks and appetizers were offered throughout the evening, and attendees were given a few words of wisdom from Downtown officials, the Downtown News editor, and the event’s co-sponsor, White Memorial Medical Center. Awards based on both reader’s and editor’s choices were also given to the best in Entertainment, Business, Eating, Drinking, and Miscellany.

Everywhere one looked there were people laughing, eating, and offers of congratulations to those who were recognized for their hard work. The upbeat atmosphere proved to be was a great evening for everyone. The Los Angeles Downtown News and White Memorial Medical Center truly brought out the Best of Downtown.

West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce Mixes and Mingles at Fish Grill Restaurant

The latest mixer held by the West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce was very much a success. Attendees were welcomed and greeted by chamber president Paul Reznik, Director Buzz Park, and other fellow chamber members. As soon we entered, we could smell the welcoming aroma of the dinner catered by Fish Grill. Fish Grill, a local kosher fish restaurant, hosted the event and graciously provided nothing but the freshest fish to all those in attendance.

There was a great array of businesses both small and large. EZ Storage, Bristol Farms and Computer Software Training were just a few of the businesses in attendance. The Largest Mixer, of course, didn't miss out on this evening of networking--in fact, we even donated 4 FREE tickets to our upcoming event on July the 23rd at the Shrine Auditorium. Thanks to all of the support by the West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, there was quite a buzz about L.A.'s Largest Mixer XI from members who were already registered for the event.

As members ate and mingled, the motto of the West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, to enhance opportunities for members of the West Los Angeles business community through Referral, Advocacy and Education, was certainly apparent. Everywhere, members were eager to talk about new ways of increasing their networking circles and gaining new outlooks on the business world of today. Last night's mixer was not only a networking success, but also a fun evening with great food to match.

710 ESPN Celebrates Southern California Sports at L.A. Live Plaza

On July 10, 2009, the Largest Mixer attended 710 ESPN's "710 Day." An all day event in celebration of Southern California Sports, "710 Day" featured a 710 ESPN live broadcast on the Plaza stage, sports booths and interactive games, a "meet and greet" session with sports figures and star athletes, and a special VIP Party at the ESPN Zone Patio and Z Bar. A live performance by the USC band was also a great addition to the event festivities. It was really a great time for everybody!710 ESPN is one of the sponsors of the Largest Mixer who make it possible for us to do what we do. Without sponsor support (from fantastic sponsors like 710 ESPN), the Largest Mixer would not be nearly as successful as it is year after year.

The Largest Mixer Throws L.A. Kick-Off Event at Social Hollywood

Wednesday, July 8, 2009 marked the VIP Kick-Off Event for L.A.'s Largest Mixer XI. The kick-off event, held at the posh nightclub Social Hollywood, was a chance for exhibitors and sponsors alike to meet one another before the day of the actual mixer (which is set for Thursday, July 23, 2009). With well over 200 people in attendance, the atmosphere was as lively as ever. There was fantastic food (provided by Social Hollywood), a great atmosphere, and a wealth of networking. It was definitely much adieu about something!

To add to the night's festivities, three "business card drawing" giveaways were graciously provided by Avi Resort and Casino in Laughlin, NV, the Inn at Playa del Rey, and the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort and Hotel in Carlsbad. At the end of the night, the lucky winners of the drawings were Burney H. Armstrong Jr., Insurance Consultant for Charity One Insurance Agency, Rickey L. Walker, Sr. Account Executive for Metro Commute Services, and Kara Lizarraga, Program Coordinator for MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association, Inc.). Congratulations!!
We'd like to thank to Ani Avanessian, Senior Sales Manager at Social Hollywood for helping to make this event as successful as it was. In addition, we'd also like to extend a special thank you to all of our sponsors: Flyroswell, Manpower, Metro, Social Hollywood, AT&T, the University of Phoenix, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Barona Resort and Casino, and, last but not least, 710 ESPN. Without your support, none of this would have been possible. Thank you!!

Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce Mixes it up with Busby’s on Wilshire

The Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce held their monthly luncheon mixer today at the Miracle Mile Busby’s on Wilshire. While each monthly mixer is always held at a new location, the theme always remains the same -- great people coming together to achieve great things in the community.

The Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce's mixers are unlike any other. Not only do they bring business members of the community together, but they also encourage members to reach out to those people and businesses that they may or may not have previously met.

Throughout the luncheon, chamber members enjoyed delicious food and beverages catered by El Toro Cantina. When we arrived, members had already began mixing and mingling. Upon conclusion of lunch, Steve, Bill and other chamber members gave a short speech thanking everyone for their participation and gave special thanks to the Largest Mixer for their support and prize donation (four tickets to L.A.'s Largest Mixer on July 23rd). The Miracle Mile Chamber is a major supporter of the Largest Mixer and is eager to see what new and exciting things this year will bring.

At the close of the event, members were all encouraged to introduce themselves and tell everyone a little bit about their business. In addition, even Mayor Gabriel Sermano was present to provide a few words of wisdom and encouragement. Others in attendance included Matt Simon from The Grove, Mark Logan with Firm Body Evolution, and Pam Rudy of the Larchmont Chronicle.

Overall the Miracle Mile Chamber Mixer was a wonderful luncheon filled with great food, fabulous prizes, and amazing people!

Culver City Chamber of Commerce Throws Culver Expo 2009

The Largest Mixer recently attended the Culver City Chamber of Commerce's Culver Expo 2009 located at Ivy Substation/Media Park. As the tagline "A Culver City Business Tradition" suggests, the expo was unsurprisingly well attended and organized. With over 100 unique businesses in attendance, there were plenty of people to be met and lots of networking to be had.

Among the dozens of people that we had the pleasure of meeting were Mary Lee, Customer Service & Promotions Manager for Westfield Fox Hills, Karla Riddle, Director of Sales & Marketing for Premier Business Centers, and Joyce Mak, Sales Manager for the Courtyard by Marriott.

We'd like to give a special thanks to Steve Rose for throwing such a great event! We definitely look forward to next year!

Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Throws 20th Annual Business Expo

Held last week at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall 1, Business Expo 2009 was a huge success. The expo, hosted by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, featured over 20 local vendors, 200 exhibitors, and 2,000 attendees! Not to mention, also in attendance was the Las Vegas mayor himself, Oscar Goodman. Despite the large venue, the convention center was still packed and bustling with people eager to do business.
Just a few (of the hundreds!) of people that we met at the expo were Larry Bradley, Director of Member Services and Group Manager for Pro Group Management, Sonia Miller, Managing Partner of PM Digital Group, and Kathleen Forsyth, Financial Advisor of Waddell & Reed.

We'd like to extend a special thanks to Emily Hayes and Vance Adams for throwing such a fantastic event!

Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Hosts Mixer at Local Hotspot, Hollywood Billiards

We recently attended the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s monthly mixer at Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood. The evening was nothing short of a success.

(Hollywood Chamber Members and Business Professionals Mingling)

Since 1921 the mission of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has been “Promoting and enhancing the business, cultural and civic well-being of the greater Hollywood community. Their goal is to enhance the Hollywood community and bring together those businesses and community members to discover new ways to network and improve an already thriving town. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is also huge supporter of the Largest Mixer. To show our support, we donated two pairs of event tickets. The winners each received two tickets for entry into the Largest Mixer valued at a total of $80. This was definitely a crowd pleaser.

Aside from a great atmosphere, drinks and appetizers were served to the many energetic business professionals and chamber members. Plaques were also awarded to those new members of the chamber, welcoming them into the organization. Among some of the new business members inducted, were Massage & Mobile Spa, Lanair, and AOO Events.

(Plague presented to new chamber members, AOO Events)

While at the event, we mixed and mingled with an array of business professionals including Heather Wright, School Director of EI School of Professional Makeup, Ken Peterson of Hollywood’s newest attraction Hollywood Fringe and Bill Farrar active chamber member and Senior Vice President of Operations and Business Development for Andrews International. Even members from Beverly Hills Times were present.

(Two of the Chamber's amazing hosts)

All in all, those who attended the mixer were thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and endless networking opportunities the night’s event presented.
